Greetings! Its a great day here at Cook-Godfrey Productions and today I want to take a moment to share some advice with those of you who are aspiring to write your first novel, self-help piece, children’s book, blog post, whatever…I know how it feels to have something huge inside but yet feeling overwhelmed to the point of being stagnant.
Here are some meaningful tips that I believe will help:
- Never wait for anyone to validate you as a writer but be sure to embrace mentorship!
- Know your identity in Christ Jesus and operate out of that revelation knowledge.
- Trust in God’s character, especially when people fail you.
- Expect disappointments but also embrace the reality of success and fulfilment.
- Learn from every critical review and rating, but never stop writing.
- Lastly, invest in your writing journey. If you are afraid to invest in yourself, who else will?
I am seriously planning an “Aspiring Writer” workshop soon. If you have an interest, I would love to hear from you. You may email me at dcookgodfrey@gmail.com or comment below for more information!
